Table Download: Download HTML Tables in Spreadsheet Format
Table Download is a free Chrome add-on developed by Arun. This add-on allows users to download HTML tables from web pages in spreadsheet format, specifically XLS. The downloaded data is copied in raw HTML format, and a warning is displayed when opening the file.
To ensure security, the HTML code is sanitized using the DOMPurify library. This library removes any dangerous HTML elements, preventing XSS attacks and other potential security issues.
Table Download requests permissions for scripting and active tab access. This is necessary to inject a JavaScript code into the active tab's webpage, which is only activated when the extension icon is clicked.
